O Bridge School Benefit, festival beneficente organizado por Neil Young e sua esposa Peggy, terá sua 25a edição agora em outubro. Para celebrar a marca de um quarto de século, será lançado o álbum duplo The Bridge School Concerts, cujo tracklist trará alguns dos nomes mais importantes que já passaram pelo palco do festival como R.E.M., Sonic Youth, Pearl Jam, Brian Wilson, Who, Metallica, Paul McCartney e Thom Yorke, além, é claro, do patrono do festival. O álbum, e também uma versão em DVD triplo, serão lançados no dia 14 de outubro.

E o processo de gravação do novo disco do Smashing Pumpkins, Oceania, de acordo com Billy Corgan, está finalizado. O lançamento pode acontecer ainda este ano e o tracklist deverá ser este:

Já o recém-aposentado R.E.M. irá celebrar sua carreira com o lançamento de mais uma coletânea. Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage: 1982-2011, cuja capinha vai acima, sai no dia 15 de novembro. Os 31 anos de carreira da banda (o “1982” que vai no título do álbum refere-se ao ano do primeiro lançamento da banda, o EP Chronic Town — a banda já existia desde 1980) estarão compilados em dois discos de 20 faixas cada:

Já o Pearl Jam, enquanto celebra seus 20 anos com filme e livro, já começa a pensar também em um novo disco. Em entrevista para a Rolling Stone, Jeff Ament revelou que a banda já gravou novas músicas com Brendan O’Brien. O lançamento do sucessor de Backspacer, no entanto, só deve ser finalizado e lançado no ano que vem.

Por fim, o Guided By Voices finaliza Let’s Go Eat the Factory, que deverá sair em janeiro de 2012. O tracklist é esse abaixo:
